窃盗犯はなんと親族
マラッカ : 先週の木曜日、マラッカのタマン・セントサに住んでいるマネーチェンジャーのジャマル・モハッド・ナザーさんの家からRM200,000の現金、RM150,000相当の宝石等、高級時計やTVなど合計約150万リンギットを盗んだ男達が、火曜日にペナンで捕まった。調べによると犯行グループの1人は被害者の親族であることがわかり、木曜日の朝にメイド1人を残しジャマルさん家族が出かけたところを狙ったという。ジャマルさんに伝えたところ、犯人が捕まり助かったけれど親族が犯人だとは信じられないと言う。盗まれたものは警察がいったん押収し、後にジャマルさんのもとに戻ってくるとの事。

Police nab close kin of moneychanger
MALACCA : The thief who stole RM1.2mil in cash and jewellery
from a moneychanger's house in Taman Sentosa here last Thursday is believed
to be a close family member of the victim.
The man believed to have committed the theft to pay off debts to moneylenders.
In a press conference yesterday,state police chief SAC 1 Ayub Yaacob said
the 36-year-old suspect was picked up by Malacca police in Ayer Itam,Penang,on
Tuesday.
He was remanded for 10 days from yesterday while another person is still
at large. Police also recovered RM1.1mil in cash and jewellery from the
suspect.
Moneychanger Jamal Mohd Nazar and his wife Khatijah Tahir have been called
in by the police to identify the items recovered.
SAC Ayub said investigations showed that the suspect and his accomplice
were familiar with the layout of the house.
Jamal lost RM200,00 in cash,RM150,000 in foreign currencies,a RM42,000
Rolex watch,jewellery,a plasma TV set,a computer,a telephone and two cell
phone in the robbery.
The two Indonesian maids were alone at home last Thursday,the day of the
robbery. Jam al and his family had left the house in the morning to go
to his shop in Plaza Hang Utah here.
When contacted,Jamal said he was relieved the case had been solved.
"But I am saddened that the culprit was a close family member.
