蜂に刺され、生徒4人が病院へ

クラン ：Cross Country Sweet Run 2007のため、1000人以上の生徒がタマン・スリ・アンデイルでクロス･カントリーを行っていたところ、68人もの生徒が蜂に刺される被害にあった。6年生のシチ・アミナ君、D・ティバァンラジ君・ムハメッド・ハシフ君、ヌル・ファティンちゃんの4人は、重傷であり病院で治療を受けている。4人とも吐き気を訴えており、ティバァンラジ君は蜂に刺された25分後に気を失ったとのこと。なんと蜂たちは地面の中に巣をつくっていたようだ。市長のA・カルパヤ氏は生徒達の足音に驚いた蜂達が攻撃したきたのだろうと話しており、すでに巣は除去したという。

Four pupils warded after wasp attack on ‘sweet’ run

KLANG : A practice cross country run by more than a thousand primary school pupils came to a chaotic end when wasps attacked them as they ran through Taman Sri Andalas here.

The pupils screamed and ran away from the angry wasps but 68 pupils from SK Taman Sri Andalas were nevertheless badly stung.

The pupils were on a familiarisation run for the upcoming Cross Country Sweet Run 2007 next week.

Four 12-year-olds ? Siti Aminah Natahan, D. Thibanraaj, Muhammad Hasif Ishak and Nur Fatin Atherah ? were warded while the others received outpatient treatment at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital.

All those warded complained of nausea. Thibanraaj fainted at the school 25 minutes after the wasp attack.

The wasps came from an earth hive at a vacant piece of land.

Klang Municipal Council Vector Unit supervisor A. Karpaya said investigations revealed that the vibration caused by the pupil's feet as they ran had disturbed the earth-hive.

The four-foot long hive was later destroyed.
