お祝いが重なった花婿

ペナン：バレンタイン・デー、誕生日と2つのお祝い事が毎年重なる男性、レイヴァン・リーさんが今年の2月14日に結婚式を行い、1日になんと3つの慶事が重なった。結婚式では「バースデイ・バレンタイン・ウェディングケーキ」という特別に大きいウェディングケーキを用意したと話す。去年、花嫁であるプリンシア・チョンさんにプロポーズをした時から結婚式の日取りは2月14日にしようと2人で決めていたと言う。2月14日に結婚式を行うカップルは極めて多く、リーさん達の他にマレーシアでは67組ものカップルが結婚式を行い、ペナンだけでも18組のカップルが結婚の誓いをたてた。

Triple celebration for groom

PENANG: Valentine's Day will always be a “triple celebration” for engineer Rayvan Lee because his birthday and wedding day fall on the same date.

“Valentine's Day will always be very special to me. Exactly a year ago I proposed to my girlfriend Prinscilia Chong and we decided to tie the knot on Feb 14 this year,” he said.

Recalling his romantic proposal, Chong, 27, said she was very touched when Lee, also 27, brought her to the beach where he lit candles arranged in the shape of a heart.

Yesterday, the couple also brought along a small birthday-wedding-Valentine's Day cake to celebrate their big day after attending the mass registration at Che Hoon Khor Moral Uplifting Society with 67 other couples.

Technician Loh Eng Hin, 26, and clerk Koay Lay Kheng, 27, chose to wed on Feb 14 as that's the date that marked the start of their love for each other.

“Six years ago, we fell in love on Valentine's Day but because of some misunderstanding we drifted apart,” Loh said. The two got back together last year.

Over at Penang Chinese Town Hall, 18 pairs of lovebirds exchanged marriage vows.
