事故のため５kmの渋滞

ラワン：昨日、レンバ･ブリンギン地区の近くの高速道路でトレーラーがひっくり返る事故が起きた。トレーラーの移動作業には1時間以上もかかり、両車線をふさいでしまい高速道路は5kmの渋滞に見まわれた。Peoject Lebuhraya Utara Selatan(以下PLUS)の本部長であるハリラ・ダトゥック・モハド・タルハ氏は事件を聞いたのは午前7時20分であり8時にはクレーンを使い撤去作業に入ったと言う。しかしクレーンでは十分に動かすことが出来ず、すぐにパワーシャベルを手配し少しずつ動かしていったと話した。最終的にトレーラーを道の脇に移動させて車を通れるようにしたが、時間は午前8時45を回っていたという話だ。ハリラ氏はトレーラーの運転手の容態について、幸いに軽傷で済んだと語った。

Overturned trailer causes 5km jam

RAWANG: An overturned trailer caused a traffic jam that stretched for more than 5km along both sides of the North-South Expressway (NSE), near Lembah Beringin, yesterday.

Traffic came to a standstill for more than one hour. The trailer, heading to Kuala Lumpur crashed into the metal divider at about 7.20am near Km424 of the highway before falling on its side and blocking both lanes along the south-bound side of the expressway.

Project Lebuhraya Utara Selatan Bhd (PLUS) general manager (corporate communications) Khalilah Datuk Mohd Talha said PLUS did a contra-flow of traffic along the stretch.

She said PLUS personnel rushed to the scene at about 8am and were able to get a crane to the scene soon.

However, they found the trailer too heavy to remove.

She said the personnel then turned to the contractor carrying the expressway widening works and asked to use the heavy duty excavator.

The trailer was finally moved out of the way, allowing traffic to move again by about 8.45am.

Khalilah said the trailer driver was only slightly injured in the incident.
