SMSでタクシー

プトラジャヤ：プトラジャヤとサイバージャヤでSMSを使ってタクシーを呼べるシステムが木曜日から実施される。商業移動手段ライセンス委員会（CVLB）大臣のザイヌディン・アマッド氏はこのシステムの認可した。このシステムはこれまで電話でタクシーを呼んでいたが、SMSナンバー33030経由でタクシーを呼べるというものであり、SMSを受け取ると、比較的近所の全タクシー会社に連絡が行き届くというもの。公共移送生活共同組合議長のザクアン・ハルン氏はタクシー会社からの返事はなるべく早く来るようにしなければいけない。利用者に場所を告げてもらい、もしタクシーがあればSMSで時間とタクシーナンバーを送るというシステムだ。このシステムにより外出している利用者は携帯通信コストの削減になるだろうと話した。呼ばれたタクシーはRM１のサービス料金が加算される。既に１２０台のタクシーが、プトラジャヤ、サイバージャヤでこのシステムを導入している。

SMS taxi service launched

PUTRAJAYA:A SMS taxi service for taxis operating here and Cyberjaya was launched on Thursday.

Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) secretary Zainuddin Ahmad, who witnessed the launching said said the board would be monitoring the operations in Putrajaya and Cyberjaya to see if these could be implemented for all operators in the Klang Valley.

Under the service, passengers can ask for a taxi pick-up by sending their addresses to a message centre via the SMS number 33030.

The SMS will then be recorded and a request sent out via radio to all the taxis in the vicinity.

Putrajaya Berhad public transport cooperative chairman Zakuan Harun said passengers could expect a reply to their SMS within 10 seconds.

"If there is a taxi available, an SMS will be sent out to them informing them of their taxi number as well as the time it will need to reach their house or address.

"Using SMS will help cut costs, especially for a handphone prepaid user.

"Only after the SMS has been sent out informing passengers of their taxi numbers, will the RM1 service charge be imposed," he said.

He added that currently there were around 120 taxis plying the areas in Putrajaya and Cyberjaya.
