Barisan wins with 1,850 majority

IJOK: Barisan Nasional's K. Parthiban won the Ijok by-election by a bigger majority of 1,850 votes over Parti Keadilan Rakyat's Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim after an intense nine days of campaigning.

In the 2004 general election, Barisan won the seat by 1,649 votes.

“The Barisan Nasional victory is proof of the people's confidence in the coalition Government.” ? Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

“Barisan has won all five by-elections and this is a good sign because it shows the people’s continued support for and trust in the ruling coalition.” ? Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
