銀行強盗、警報機発動で防止

アロースター：木曜日早朝、ポコック・セナのパブリック・バンクで銀行のＡＴＭを狙った強盗事件が発生した。犯行グループは事前にＣＣＴＶカメラを破壊、そして電源供給をストップさせて銀行に進入したとみられる。しかし、銀行の警報機が作動したため、ＡＴＭに入ったお金を奪うことなく逃走した。銀行内では物色された形跡がみられるが大きな被害はなかった模様。警報機を聞いた人が警察に素早く通報したため、被害は最小限にとどめられた。

Alarm scares away bank robbers

ALOR STAR: A burglary at the Public Bank branch at Pokok Sena Thursday morning was foiled when the alarm was triggered.

In the 5am incident, a group of burglars is believed to have damaged the bank’s closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera placed outside and cut off the power supply before breaking in through the side door.

However, they failed to disarm the alarm system, which was triggered off several minutes after they entered the premises.

Passersby who heard the alarm immediately called the police.

Kedah CID chief Assistant Comm Zakaria Ahmad said the group did not take any money from the bank.

“The burglars tried to break open the ATM and several cabinets in the bank. However, nothing was missing,” he added.
