警官が空に５８発も発砲、精神病か

クアンタン：水曜日の早朝６時半ごろ、クアラ・リピスのセレンダン村で警官が突然５８発もの銃弾を空に発砲する事件が起きた。この警官はクアラ・リピス病院の精神科へ送られた。

この２２歳の警官は許可されていない場所で発砲したとして逮捕されている。パハンＣＩＤチーフのNarenasegaran氏はこの警官が何故このような行為を行ったのか理解に苦しむ、精神鑑定の結果を待ちたいとコメントしている。この警官は空に向かっての発砲に加え、自分の車にも数発の弾を撃ち込んでいた。幸いこの警官の近くに住人らはおらず、けが人はでていない。

Cop who fired 58 shots sent to psychiatrist

KUANTAN: The policeman who fired 58 shots into the air in Kampung Selendang, Padang Tengku, Kuala Lipis early Wednesday, was on Thursday referred to the Lipis Hospital’s psychiatry department.

Pahang CID chief ACP T. Narenasegaran said the 22-year-old had also been arrested under the Firearms Act 1960 for discharging fire in an unauthorised place.

”We don’t know yet what prompted him to do so. We are still waiting for the report from the hospital,” he said when contacted.

Police did not rule out depression as the cause.

In the incident at 6.30am Wednesday, the policeman fired 58 shots into the air, including three shots in the direction of his car.

No one was injured in the incident as the policeman was the only person in the area.

Narenasegaran said he was not sure how the policemen, who was attached to the Simpang Durian police station in Negri Sembilan, ended up in Kuala Lipis. - Bernama
