Isuzu unveils D-MAX pick-up
[ PETALING JAYA ] The Isuzu D-MAX pick-up was introduced to the Malaysian
market yesterday.
It is assembled and distributed by Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a joint venture
between DRB-Hicom Bhd and two foreign partners--Isuzu Operations(Thailand)
and Isuzu Motors Asia Limited,Singapore.
TheD-MAX 3.0-litre direct injection diesel turbo is available in three
versions--4x2 auto,4x4 manual,4x4 auto.
The units are priced at RM87,348 on the road with insurance for the 4x2
auto,RM89,011 for the 4x4 manual and RM96.443 for the 4x4 auto.
The D-MAX is assembled at Malaysian Truck & Bus Sdn Bhd in Pekan,Pahang,and
is available in astral silver,imperial blond,zenith blue,still black and
chamonix green.
Isuzu Malaysia chairman and DRB-Hicom Group chairman Tan Sri Mohd Saleh
Sulong said he is confident the D-MAX will be a leader in the growing
pick-up truck market.
"For the rest of this year,we target a minimum of 1,300 units,or
a 6.5 per cent share of the segment volume of 20,000 units for the year."he
said during the launch officiated by Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs
Minister Datuk Shafie Apdal.
Isuzu has set up a network of 20 '3S'(sales,service and spare parts) centres
including seven in Sabah and Sarawak,where about two-thirds of the D-MAX
sales are expected.
