Cops to step up security in Bangsar
[ KUALA LUMPUR ] Crime prevention measures in Bangsar will be steped
up to ensure a safe environment for visitors and residents.
Lembah Pantai MP Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said that at a recent
meeting with Brickfields police chief,Senior Assistant Commissioner U
Zul Hasnan najib Baharudin,the latter agreed to beef up security in Bangsar.
Sharizat,who is Women,Family and Community Development Minister,said in
a statement that there would be round-the-clock patrols by policemen on
motorcycles,nighly road-blocks and daily eight-hour patrols at residential
areas,from midnight.
"Two CCTVs will be placed at strategic locations and will be monitored
by Brickfields police headquarters control room."
The meeting followed the case involving UNDP representative Dr Richard
Leete who was held up by an armed robber in front of the Bangsar Shopping
Centre last Sunday.
