AirAsia turns into a Davil
NOW AirAsia are flying high in the English football market.
After the plan to be linked with Everton fell through , AirAsia finally
made the breakthrough when English Premiership giants Manchester United
announced a one-year deal with the budget airline.
In a deal that could be worth up to RM14 million , Air Asia Manchester
United merchandise and paint at least one of their aircraft with images
of the English Premier League club's logo and players.The plane will be
called the Red Devil.
AirAsia's logo will also be displayed on the digital "A"boards
at Old Trafford,the home of the Red Devils.
The deal was sealed yesterday in Hong Kong.
AirAsia group chief executive Datuk Tony Fernandes and his Manchester
United counterpart David Gill signed the agreement,witnessed by Sir Bobby
Charlton.
"Manchester United stand for quality and passion and that is exactly
what we stand for ,"said Fernandes.
"With this deal,we will be able to promote AirAsia in Britain and
Europe.
"We want them to know that they can come to Asia and fly to three
or four countries for the same price as a ticket to Spain."
Meanwhile ,four lucky winners of the "Manchester United Asia Tour"contest
walked away with a four-day-three night experience in Hong Kong,and all
it took was just an SMS to answer simple questions on their favourite
team.
The winners are Nazman Fariz Mohd Noh,Mohd Asmawi Johar,Wendy Loke and
Mohd Nazli Mohd Nordin.
