PLUS TO SPEND RM100m ON NEW HQ
PLUS Expressways Bhd.the manager of the North-South
Expressway,plans to spend as much as RM100 million to build a new headquarters.
The concessionaire,majority owned by the Government,plans to build the
headquarters in Selangor,Mail Money was told.
PLUS officeials confirmed the plans,but didn't want to reveal details.
"It is still in the planning stages.We have yet to finalise the details
of the project.But it should be build on a piece of land owned by us in
Subang."a PLUS official told Mail Money.
PLUS's headquarters is currently located at the Faber Towers in Taman
Desa.
It is also believed that the company will fund the project via internally
generated funds and a small mixture of bank borrowings.
Financing the project shouldn't be a problem for PLUS as it has RM1.61
billion in cash and marketable securities as of March 31 2005,its unauited
quarterly records show.
As at the end of its financial year ended Dec 31,2004,PLUS had total assets
of Rm10.78 billion.
Last year,PLUS recorded net sales of Rm1.65 billion,while net income was
at RM768.5 million,while for the first quarter of the current financial,PLUS
posted a net profit of RM487.25 million from a revenue of RM405.34 million.
Apart from holding the consession for the 772-km North-South Expressway,PLUS
also has the concession to operate and maintain four other highways in
Peninsular Malaysia including the New Klang Valley Expressway.
