Rogue wild boar shot dead
[ SEREMBAN ] A wild boar,which attacked a group of 15 children attending
tuition at a house and injured two of them last Thursday, was shot dead
yesterday.
The animal, standing at nearly one metre tall and weighing about 50kg,was
killed at 11.30am in a rubber smallholding in Kampung Bemban,about 500m
from the house where the incident happened, National Park and Wildlife
Protection Department (Perhilitan ) State director Jamalun Nasir Ibrahim
said .
"We had been hunting it for three days as it is dangerous,"he
said.
About 40 members of Perhilitan, police, Rela and licensed hunters took
part in the hunt.
A four-year-old girl, Tan Pei Fong, was severely injured on the head,mouth
,hands and legs while a six-year-old children received light injuries
during the attack in Taman Angsa in Rantau.
The children were taking part in an activity in the car park when the
animal charged through an open gate.
It was believed to have turned aggressive because it was wounded.
